1.1 Vehicle Extraction and Recovery Equipment
A simple engineering grade polymer of rugged design, formed of approximate size cm 115 long x 33 wide x 7 high and a weight of only 4 kg.
Support a 4×4 vehicle of 3500+ kg bogged in sand, mud or snow it provides traction to allow a vehicle to start moving again.
A pair (2) are sufficient to extract a vehicle but two pair (4) make recovery much easier.

1.2 Snatch Straps
Vehicle recovery snatch straps, are one of the most commonly employed items of off-road recovery gear. Correctly used, they are both safe and effective for extracting bogged vehicles.
If not used correctly the energy stored in the strap and the loads applied during recovery can make them very dangerous items.
Snatch straps are made from a heavy-duty nylon or polyester type webbing. When the recovery vehicle slowly and steadily applies a towing load via the strap to the immobilised 4WD, the strap due to its elastic nature stretches considerably. The energy temporarily stored in the strap helps to snatch the bogged vehicle free.

Vehicle recovery kits are an essential item for those who are serious four wheel drivers. Kits we recommend come from Dobinsons and Warn and are NATA approved.

2. Body Protection
2.1 Underbody Protection Plates
Off road driving exposes your vehicle to damage from various obstacles such as rocks, logs, bumps and scrapes.
A punctured sump or fuel tank, a tail-shaft jammed with logs, or even a damaged radiator all can be both costly and terrifying for those unlucky enough to be stranded without help in a remote outback location.
Underbody protection plates are commonly relied upon as a layer of armour beneath your 4WD vehicle, under-body protection has been developed as bullet proof amour for the underside of most popular off road vehicles using high grade materials in specalised design features.
4WD Obsession have the ability to fabricate or fit commercially manufactured equipment to protect your 4×4 underbody.
2.2 Side steps and side rails
Dobinsons have a range of side steps and side rails for prevention of side damage to your 4×4 vehicle. The reinforced steps and rails are there to protect the lower panels of your vehicle from off road adventures such as rocks, banks and debris.
It also provides you with an additional leg up to make getting into the vehicle easier.

2.3 Rear steps
Many suppliers have incorporated a Tow Bar and Rear Step built extremely strong with step for ease of rear access to vehicle tray tops. The design offers an integrated heavy duty towing system with a universal wiring loom and a removable hitch and tow ball.
