DASH Jimny JB74 Rear Bar with Dual Carriers – Roc-Coat Black

The rear bumper and corners of a Jimny are vulnerable when reversing through tight tracks, dropping off ledges or carrying touring equipment into rough country.

The DASH Jimny JB74 Rear Bar replaces the factory rear bumper with an integrated protection and carrying system. It combines a swing-away spare-wheel carrier, separate jerry-can carrier, LED rear lighting, recovery points and a 50mm tow-hitch receiver in one vehicle-specific assembly.

Both carriers use gas-strut-assisted swing arms and heavy-duty handles, making them easier to open and control when accessing the rear of the Jimny.

Rear Protection and Carrying Capacity

The bar provides a solid replacement for the factory rear bumper while moving the spare wheel onto its own bar-mounted swing arm.

A separate swing-away carrier holds a compatible jerry can outside the vehicle, keeping fuel storage away from the interior and preserving space inside the Jimny for passengers, recovery equipment and camping gear.

Each arm opens independently, allowing access to the required side without opening the complete carrier system.

Gas-Strut-Assisted Swing Arms

Gas struts assist the movement of both carrier arms, while the upgraded heavy-duty handles provide a positive grip for everyday opening and closing.

The swing-away design keeps the spare wheel and jerry can supported by the rear-bar assembly rather than requiring them to be moved each time the rear of the vehicle is accessed.

Integrated Rear Lighting

The rear bar includes:

• 2 × LED tail lights
• Sequential LED indicators
• 2 × LED reversing lights
• Number-plate light and mounting bracket

Installation requires changes to the factory rear-light and number-plate-light connections.

Replacement electrical connectors and ballast resistors for the LED indicators are not supplied and must be sourced during installation.

Integrated Receiver and Recovery Points

The rear bar incorporates a tow-bar section with a 50mm receiver for a compatible hitch.

The tow hitch, retaining pin and 7-pin trailer wiring loom are not included. Any towing setup must remain within the certified limits of the tow bar, vehicle and fitted towing equipment. Contact 4WD Obsession if you need to confirm the correct towing setup for your Jimny.

Two recovery points are incorporated into the rear-bar assembly. Always use correctly rated recovery equipment and a recovery method appropriate for the vehicle, terrain and situation.

Roc-Coat Textured Black Finish

The complete rear bar and carrier system is supplied in DASH Roc-Coat textured black.

This finished coating is designed to resist scratches, chips, UV exposure and corrosion during touring and off-road use. No painting or colour coding is required before installation.

Installation

Estimated fitting time is approximately 6–8 hours.

Installation includes removing the factory bumper, fitting the chassis brackets and rear bar, modifying the rear-light wiring, installing the supplied LED lights, relocating the reverse camera and assembling both swing-away carriers.

The installation guide requires replacement electrical connectors for the rear lights and number-plate light, together with ballast resistors for the LED indicators. These parts are not included and must be supplied during installation.

Professional installation is recommended due to the structural mounting, electrical work and adjustment required for the swing-away carriers.

The rear bar, spare wheel, jerry can, fuel and towing equipment all contribute to the Jimny’s payload and rear-axle load. The completed vehicle must remain within its applicable GVM, axle and towing limits.
