Offroad Animal Scout Roof Rack – Toyota LandCruiser 80 Series

The Scout Roof Rack gives the 80 Series a full-length, low-profile platform for carrying touring gear and mounting roof accessories without going to a traditional basket-style rack.

Seven aluminium T-slot cross rails run across the rack and accept standard M8 nuts and bolts, giving you plenty of flexibility when positioning recovery boards, awnings, tie-downs and other compatible accessories.

Suits Toyota LandCruiser 80 Series.

Low-Profile Aluminium Design

The Scout uses a lightweight aluminium construction and weighs 28kg complete.

It adds approximately 50mm to the height of the vehicle, keeping the rack tucked relatively close to the roof.

The rack is finished in matte black powder coat.

T-Slot Mounting

All seven cross rails use T-slots that accept standard M8 hardware.

That gives you flexible mounting positions for compatible:

• Recovery-board mounts
• Awning brackets
• Tie-down points
• Roof-rack accessories
• Touring and camping gear

The usable platform area measures 1875mm x 1300mm.

Load Ratings

Offroad Animal lists the Scout at:

• 150kg dynamic load rating
• 100kg off-road load rating
• 350kg static load rating
• 28kg rack weight

With the rack weight deducted, Offroad Animal lists 122kg available on-road and 72kg available off-road.

Remember that permanently mounted accessories and the gear being carried also contribute to the total roof load.

Wind Deflector & Light Bar Setup

A front wind deflector and cover are supplied with the rack.

Offroad Animal also lists a light-bar wind deflector setup for integrating a compatible single- or double-row LED light bar up to 42 inches into the front of the rack.

Lighting is sold separately.

Fitting

The Scout requires assembly and fitting using its 80 Series-specific mounting setup.

If you're adding an awning, recovery boards, lighting or other roof-mounted gear, it makes sense to work out the layout before fitting so the rack can be set up around what you actually carry.
