Offroad Animal Scout Roof Rack – Toyota FJ Cruiser (2011–2016)

The FJ Cruiser is a capable touring platform, but cabin space disappears quickly once you start packing swags, tents, recovery gear and everything else needed for a longer trip.

The Scout Roof Rack gives the FJ a full-length aluminium platform with plenty of usable carrying space, while the T-slot cross rails make it easy to mount gear exactly where you need it.

Vehicle Fitment

Suits Toyota FJ Cruiser models from 2011 to 2016.

Aluminium Platform

The Scout is constructed entirely from aluminium and weighs approximately 32kg.

It sits around 75mm above the centre of the roof, keeping the rack relatively low-profile while still providing a large usable platform.

The usable load area measures:

• 1250mm wide
• 1850mm long

T-Slot Mounting

Seven aluminium cross rails run across the rack, each using a T-slot that accepts standard M8 nuts and bolts.

That gives you flexible mounting positions for compatible:

• Swags and tents
• Recovery boards
• Awning brackets
• Tie-down points
• Touring accessories
• Roof-mounted storage

Load Ratings

Offroad Animal lists the FJ Cruiser Scout Rack at:

• 120kg dynamic
• 80kg off-road
• 320kg static
• 32kg rack weight

After allowing for the rack itself, this leaves approximately:

• 88kg carrying capacity on-road
• 48kg carrying capacity off-road

Any permanently fitted accessories also form part of the total roof load.

Integrated Light Bar Provision

The supplied front wind deflector includes a removable cover that allows a compatible 42" LED light bar to be integrated into the front of the rack.

This keeps the light tucked into the rack rather than mounting it above or below on separate brackets.

The rear of the rack also includes housings for optional work lights.

Lighting is sold separately.

Finish

The rack is finished in matte black powder coat.

Fitting

Installation is listed at approximately 1–2 hours.
