Offroad Animal Scout Roof Rack – Toyota Prado 250 Series (2024–Present, Non-Kakadu)

The Scout Roof Rack gives the Prado 250 extra carrying space for the bulky gear that quickly fills the back of the vehicle — swags, tents, recovery gear and other touring equipment that is easier carried up top.

This is a 3/4-length rack, starting around the B-pillar rather than running the full length of the roof. It keeps the setup compact while still giving you a 1200mm x 1560mm usable load area.

Vehicle Fitment

Suits Toyota Prado 250 Series models from 2024 to Present, excluding Kakadu.

This listing is specifically for the non-Kakadu Prado 250.

3/4-Length Aluminium Rack

The Scout is made from aluminium and weighs 26kg complete.

It uses six T-slot cross rails and sits level with the factory shark-fin antenna, keeping the rack low against the roof rather than adding the height of a traditional basket-style setup.

The rack is finished in matte black powder coat.

T-Slot Mounting

The six aluminium cross rails accept standard M8 nuts and bolts, giving you plenty of flexibility when positioning compatible accessories and tie-downs.

That makes it easier to set the rack up around the gear you actually carry rather than working around fixed mounting points.

• 100kg dynamic load rating
• 75kg off-road load rating
• 250kg static load rating
• 26kg rack weight

Based on those figures, Offroad Animal lists 74kg available on-road and 49kg available off-road after the rack weight is deducted.

Wind Deflector & Light Bar Mounting

The Scout comes with a front wind deflector and removable cover.

Removing the cover opens up a mounting position for a compatible 42" LED light bar, allowing the light to sit neatly across the front of the rack.

Lighting is sold separately.

Offroad Animal lists approximately 1–2 hours fitting time.

If you're adding awnings, recovery boards, a light bar or other roof-mounted gear, it is worth planning the layout before fitting so the rack can be set up around the equipment you actually intend to carry.

For a Prado 250 that needs more room for touring or camping gear, the Scout gives you a useful 3/4-length platform without covering the entire roof.
